I love fragrances, and I am always looking for something that smells and looks different. Plus I am a sucker for a bargain. In some magazines I read I saw some adverts for this Moschino fragrance but I didn’t really pay much attention to it at first.
One lunchtime I was on Instagram clicking through people’s posts and stories, and an account I follow, Shaun was talking about this fragrance. That’s what inspired me to read more on the fragrance before making some hints that it would make a great Christmas present.
Firstly, the bottle is fun. I like the fact that it looks a bit like a teddy bear in PVC. It looks cute on the bathroom shelf. That’s exactly what Moschino aims for. Cool and playful. I follow them on social media as I find their creations make me smile in their boldness.
But, it’s the scent that’s important not the bottle, and it doesn’t disappoint. Read reviews online or watch YouTube clips of people trying to describe it and you’ll be none the wiser. The range of words used doesn’t help you capture its essence.
I’d say there are clear hints of pepper, a sharp spiciness to the scent, plus hints of nutmeg and bergamot. When first sprayed its fairly powerful but settles quickly and nicely. I’m surprised by how light, fresh, citrusy it becomes with the spiciness still sitting in the background. There are also hints of rose to it, which I know is not a scent most men want to smell of. But it doesn’t leave you smelling like a granny in any way what so ever. And although it’s a male scent I know a few friends whose girlfriends and wives are using this as their go-to scent.
My first few wears and I wasn’t sold on it, and I considered trying to get a refund. But it takes a few days to get used to it. I like to use light scents during the day, not that it really matters while we are in lockdown. So I tried this for a few consecutive days and it quickly became my day-to-day fragrance.
I’ve had compliments on it at the supermarket from people asking what scent I am wearing and the scent has really grown on me. In terms of price, I think this is fairly reasonable and good value for money. A little goes a long way, and as an Eau De Parfum, the scent most definitely lingers for the entire day.
With Valentine’s Day close by I would say that this would be an ideal gift for someone you love, or simply for yourself.
